It is a method which is based on ancient Tibetan practices which were used to harmonise and heal the mind, spirit and body.
Reiki works with the endocrine system within your body and regulates hormone and metabolism balance
The explanation of how Reiki and stress are connected and how the therapy works, is best explained using examples from our every day lives:
Basically it is a link between energies and emotions and how our bodies react to these stimuli.
Reiki is designed to tap into these energies and emotions and bring them back into balance so reducing the ill effects on our bodies as well as helping to relieve stress.

So Reiki techniques rebalance the energies in our body, this in turn helps us to relax.
It also helps us to be able to cope better when stressful situations arise; allowing us to react in a more positive way and so reduce any ill effects stress may have on us both emotionally and physically.
Here are two quick reiki Sessions which you can carry out on yourself to relive stress.
Try them out and see if you feel that this type of therapy would be able to help you with your stress levels and also if it feels right for you.
These positions are focusing on different Chakras (energy points within the body) and helping to calm and relax you.
The more you practice this exercise the easier you will find it to focus on your areas of your body and releasing the tension. Once you have worked all the way up your body, you will find that you are relaxed and calm both physically and mentally.
