Emotional Freedom Technique:
Tapping Your Way To Stress Relief

Emotional freedom technique may not be phase you are used to. I must admit that it was not something I had ever come across until recently.

However once I researched what it actually was and how it could help with stress relief and how easy it was to do yourself I was pleasantly surprised and decided that it was definitely something to be explored.

What Is Emotional Freedom Technique?

If you have ever heard of acupuncture or acupressure you will already be aware that it is based on using certain energy points throughout the body.

Well Emotional freedom technique or EFT uses the same pressure points but instead of using needles and pressure to rebalance the body’s energy flow it uses finger tapping. That’s right tapping, no pain, no special equipment just a gentle finger tap.

The basic principle is that negative emotion causes illness and disruption to the body’s normal flow and processes cause bad health.

Also that most of this negative emotion is due to a blockage in the flow of the body’s energy system and that by unblocking those systems, good health can return. Tapping on certain pressure points unblocks these energy channels.

EFT can be used to relive many different physical and mental problems such as:

  • Pain Relief
  • Anger
  • Addictions
  • Weight Loss
  • Anxiety
  • Trauma
  • Depression
  • Fears & Phobias
  • Allergies
  • Respiratory Problems
  • Blood Pressure
  • Relationship Issues
  • Women’s Issues
  • Children’s Issues

The Pressure Points

As mentioned EFT works by tapping certain pressure points on the body. As a general guide here are those points but I would stress that if you want to learn and practice EFT to relieve stress for yourself, you should find out more in depth information about the process. The video at the end of this page will take you through the process.

The Points Are Situated On:

  • The hand – all fingers except the ring finger, the gamut spot, side of hand
  • The face – side of both eyebrows, under eyes, upper lip, chin cleft
  • The upper torso – collarbone, under arm, sore spot
