Bach Flower Remedies And Flower Essence For Stress Relief

Bach flower remedies and flower essences are great tools for helping to provide stress relief. They work on the emotional state of the stress sufferer and help to promote a more balanced response from stressful situations.

I have used them throughout my life, especially the rescue remedy. I have found them to be a great help on a daily basis and have helped me to take stock of stressful situations and learn not respond to them in a more controlled and calm way. This may also have something to do with the way you take them.

You only need to take a very small drop of the flower essence on your tongue and to hold it there for a few seconds while focusing on your body and the liquid on your tongue.

Dr Edward Bach

The Bach flower remedies were invented by a Edward Bach (1886 – 1936), an english doctor. He had worked over the years as ahead surgeon, a bacteriologist and a pathologist and had a keen interest in homeopathy.

He noticed after working with injured soldiers that the ones who acknowledged a connection between their emotions and their physical health recovered quicker. He concluded that a negative or pessimistic outlook on life lead to  creating miserable and physically ill individuals, with the opposite being true.

He believed that a positive outlook allowed the body to heal itself quicker and be generally stronger and able to cope better with life's ups and downs.

The Seven Personality Types

Edward Bach believed that there were seven main personality types which drive their own individual negative emotions and which if adjusted could reverse their negative impact on the person.

  • The seven types are those who:
  • Feel lonely all the time,
  • Are overly influenced by others and their ideas,
  • Are despondent,
  • Have little interest in their circumstances,
  • Are overly fearful,
  • Are uncertain of everything,
  • Care way too much about others.

What Are Bach Flower Remedies?

Bach Flower Remedy Set of 40 x 10ml Stock Bottles.

The bach flower remedies are made by placing certain parts of individual flowers into water and allowing them over a period of hours to transfer their essence into the water. The essence is then preserved in brandy and this is why they do not go off in the bottle and so can be used over a long period of time.

There are 38 remedies all focusing on a particular negative emotion. They can be combined to create your own specific remedies to tackle your own individual negative emotions.
