Self Foot Massage

I like to take my shoes off and roll my feet over a golf ball while I'm sitting at my desk. I think it has something to do with Reflexology where certain points of the soles of the feet are connected to other parts of the body and help to relax them.

I find that after doing this for a few minutes i feel generally more relaxed and also any back pain or headache is reduced.

Relaxing Tea My Time Out

by Mary
(Glasgow)

I'm a great tea drinker and as you know tea has relaxing properties when drunk in moderation.

But I like to make my tea drinking a whole lot more relaxing and enjoyable by making the whole tea making process a lot more involved.

I like to have a variety of teas available all displayed in nice decorative pots. I always use a tea pot and strainer and have a milk jug and sugar bowl too.

I like to make my tea and then take my teapot etc and carry it into my conservatory on a tray. Then I savor my tea and relax at the same time.

u know this is not always possible if you are not at home but you can always make your tea drinking a little more fun with just a little more effort. Enjoy

One of the best things I love to do when i get home from work is to soak my feet in a lovely foot spa.

You can buy special ones which also vibrate the water etc but i just use a simple bowl filled with warm water and a few drops of my favorite essential oil.

I also like to lie back with my feet in the water and few slices of cucumber on my eyes. It so relaxing and refreshing at the same time. 15 minutes like this and I'm ready to enjoy by evening ready for the next day.

De-Stress With A Walk

by Sam

I have a office job which means that i spend most of my day inside a small room behind a desk.

When i feel stressed i like to go for a little walk around the office for a few minutes taking it slowly and trying not to think about the work on my desk. I find that stretching my legs like this and changing my thinking pattern really helps me to relax just enough to let me carry on through out the day.

I also like to go for a walk at lunch time if i can, with my mp3 player on. A change of scenery and a little exercise works wonders for me.

I like to give myself hand massages at my work desk. I find that it not only feels good but it also gives me a break from my work.

I like to press hard with my thumb in the middle of the palm of the opposite hand. i then gentle pull each finger and then link fingers together and stretch them back on each other.

I Like a Pampering Face Mask

I like to pamper myself once in a while and one of my favorite things to do is to have a face pack. I make my own as it is so easy and cheap.

I mix together 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt, 2 tablespoons of uncooked oatmeal and a teaspoon of honey. It makes my skin feel so soft and I feel very relaxed afterwards too.

I like to combine this with a hot bath with lots of bubbles and a chilled glass of wine.

Power Naps

by Joe

Hi

I know it has been recommend for many years that we have little power naps through out the day to recharge our batteries and I know many people scoff at the ideas. but i have always managed to find 10 minutes here and there through out my day to have a little nap and i have found it to be very beneficial.

Sometimes the naps aren't really naps, they are simply taking time out to lay down or sit back and close your eyes for ten minutes. Sometimes you drop off other times i just day dream with my eyes closed. but when I get up i find that my head is clear and I am ready to tackle the next task of the day.

i think everyone should power nap when ever they can and bosses should certainly provide a quite place with a comfy chair for the purpose. i think they would get so much more out of their workers.

OK this may sound a little odd but I keep a lovely smooth white pebble in my pocket all the time. i found it on the beach one day and just liked the way it felt in my hand.

Anyway i like to keep it in my pocket and give it a little squeeze when i feel life getting on top of me. It heps me to stop and remember being on that beach where i found the pebble. I find that it calms me down and helps me to relax and not let stress get me down.

My Favourite Relaxation Bath

by Sam

When I'm, feeling really tense and stressed i love to have a long, hot bath with my mix of essential oils.

I find that a mix of

4 drops of Lavender essential oil
4 drops of Ylang-ylang essential oil

Another tip is to have a cup of hot tea just before your bath it helps you to perspire while in the bath which will make you feel even more refreshed and relaxed afterwards.

Hope you enjoy my relaxation bath as much as I do.
